The policies below describe how my practice operates — fees, scheduling, privacy, telehealth, and your rights as a client. Select any heading to expand it.
In a crisis
My practice does not provide emergency or crisis-response services and messages are not continuously monitored. Here’s my resource on help in a
Fees & Payment
The fee for a standard 53-minute session is $125. Payment is due at the time of service and can be made through my designated payment system. My practice is out-of-network with all insurance providers, though I can supply a superbill for clients who wish to pursue reimbursement independently.
Insurance & Superbills
My practice is out-of-network with all insurance providers, and I collect payment in full at the time of service. On request, I can provide an itemized superbill — a receipt containing the diagnosis and procedure codes insurers require — so you may seek out-of-network reimbursement directly from your plan.
Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on the terms of your individual coverage. I encourage you to confirm your out-of-network benefits with your insurer before beginning treatment.
Appointments & Scheduling
You self-schedule your own sessions. Once scheduled, you will receive an email with a link to a Google Meet. You will receive automated reminders and links for each appointment. An AI assistant is present during sessions for the purpose of generating clinical notes and maintaining continuity across treatment. These notes become part of the clinical record and are handled according to my privacy policies.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Appointments represent reserved clinical time. Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or sessions that are missed without prior notice, are billed at the full session rate. This policy applies regardless of the reason for the cancellation, with the exception of documented emergencies.
Scope of Services
My practice provides outpatient psychotherapy for adults, with a focus on relational, behavioral, and men’s mental health concerns. Treatment is exploratory and conversational, oriented toward insight, emotional regulation, and structured change. Services are limited to individual therapy; I do not provide emergency psychiatric care, custody evaluations, forensic reports, or disability determinations. All clinical work occurs within the boundaries of my licensure in the state where you reside at the time of each session.
Confidentiality & Its Limits
All clinical information is confidential and protected under state and federal law. I use HIPAA-compliant systems for scheduling, documentation, telehealth, and data storage, including enterprise-level software and Business Associate Agreements where required. Confidentiality may be broken only under legally mandated conditions, including credible risk of harm to self or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a minor or vulnerable adult, or when ordered by a court. I inform you when possible before any required disclosure is made.
Records & Privacy
I maintain clinical records in SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record system. You may request access to your records in writing, subject to legal and clinical considerations. Records are retained for the period required by state law and then securely destroyed. I do not release records to third parties without your written authorization, except where disclosure is required by law.
Telehealth Policy
I provide therapy exclusively through telehealth. You must be located in a state where I am licensed at the time of each session. Telehealth carries certain risks, including interruptions, technical limitations, and reduced privacy in non-controlled environments. You are responsible for ensuring that your physical setting allows for privacy, minimal disruption, and the ability to remain stationary during the session.
Communication Between Sessions
Administrative communication typically occurs by email or WhatsApp. I use these channels for scheduling and brief clarifications rather than therapeutic dialogue. Response times may vary and should not be relied upon for urgent or clinical matters. Session content is reserved for scheduled appointments.
Emergencies & Crisis Situations
My practice does not provide emergency or crisis-response services. If you are experiencing an acute safety concern, contact 988, call local emergency services, or present to the nearest emergency room. Messages sent to me are not continuously monitored and should not be used for urgent needs.
Termination of Treatment
Therapy may conclude when treatment goals have been met, when continued work is no longer indicated, or when you choose to end services. I may also recommend termination when therapy is no longer clinically appropriate or when attendance, payment, or communication patterns disrupt the therapeutic process. When possible, I offer referrals to alternative providers to support continuity of care.
Social Media & Professional Boundaries
The therapeutic relationship is a structured, time-bound professional relationship. I do not maintain social, financial, or digital relationships outside of therapy. I do not interact with clients on social media, do not accept gifts, and do not communicate through personal accounts. I maintain these boundaries to preserve clinical clarity and client safety.
Informed Consent
Before beginning therapy, you review and sign documentation outlining the nature of treatment, risks and benefits, privacy practices, telehealth provisions, and all policies described here. Attendance at sessions constitutes ongoing consent to treatment under these terms.
